From Merseyrail's published rules. Claiming is free.
Most of these rules come from Merseyrail's own website. Some details couldn't be read automatically and are explained in the notes below. Check Merseyrail's page before you claim.

How to claim
Online claim form on Merseyrail's help site, or call Customer Relations on 0151 555 1111. You'll need your ticket (or a photo of it, or your booking reference), the date and time of your train, and where you travelled from and to.
How you can be paid
- Back to your original payment method
Good to know
- Merseyrail has its own compensation scheme, not Delay Repay. For journeys only on the Northern and Wirral lines you get the full single fare or half a return. For journeys involving other lines it's 20%.
- Season tickets work differently: you get 5% or 10% back after the ticket ends if punctuality falls short of targets.
- No claim deadline is stated, so claim promptly.
- If you changed trains, claim from the company whose train caused the first delay.
